dictionary of important terms
i will add more to this post as i think of more or if someone posts something i left out. the following will contain everything every waffle needs to know if they ever plan on communicating information such as when scouting or talking about anything. itll save them time on ops and maybe save ships.
dont know how wombies are told to say things but this is what i was told in waffe training and its how snigg ts sounds like. more important that everyone is on the same page, if waffles want to join snigg this is what they should expect to hear.
terms at top, acronyms at bottom
terms
WARP and JUMP
you WARP within a system, you JUMP to another system
correct usage:
"i warped to a PОS at moon 6-5 and got blowеn up"
"I jumped into jita and lagged out"
"i dropped the cyno field so you can jump to me now"
"warp to me at 100 i am out of line with the bubble"
"DONT jump in there are 60 in local and a blob on the gate"
re-read that paragraph 654654564 times and remember it well‚ because new people tend to mix it up a lot and it can cause a ton of confusion and get people killed.
bubble:
theres 2 types of bubbles, interdictor and anchorable. only usable in 0.0
dictor bubbles last 2 minutes and can be deployed instantly, anchorable take 60 seconds to deploy. cannot initiate warp within its area of effect, must slowboat out. theres an option to turn on anchorable bubbles on the scanner, but to see dictor bubbles on scan you must leave overview settings off. logging out in an anchorable bubble means you hang there, logging out in a dictor bubble warps you off and you get kicked out of the corp for stuff like that.
"me"
if youre speaking on teamspeak do not say "me" say what your name is.
correct usage:
"warp to mazz at 100"
INcorrect:
"warp to me"
usually after youve flown with the same people over and over again and if your voice is distinctive enough, its faster to just say "me" on comms, but for the new waffle recruits, you will all be new to each other and even if you have been in waffe awhile, there will be new people still so try to get in the habit of speaking your own name.
"the gate"
99 times out of 100, referring to the gate as "the gate" just doesn't tell us what we need to know. say you are in alperaute, and theres 6 enemy battleships on the ostingele gate.
correct:
"6 enemy BS on ostingele gate in alper"
INcorrect:
"omg badguys @ gate help"
saying which gate is as important as saying what system it is in as well. remember that, given no other context, "the ostingele gate" can be one of 6 different gates in 6 different systems bordering ostingele, so its important to specify which of those youre talking about too.
"the belt" "the planet" "the station"
same case here. with little excetion you do not say "the X", you specify which one.
correct:
"raven at belt 3-5"
"the caracal warped off to planet 5 or 6"
"there's a camp at the x-11 station"
usually in 0.0 in almost every system theres only one station(or one worth talking about) so you will see us saying "the station" sometimes
"help im getting ganked"
DОNT ask for hеlp. 99 times out of 100 in my experience this leads only to more people getting ganked as they warp in 1-by-1 to help. the important thing when mining or NPCing or hauling is to keep a scout‚ watch local for hostiles, and dont put yourself into a position where you can get ganked in the first place. if youre already in a position where you are going to die, then accept it, buy a new ship, and dont die again.
correct:
"hostiles killing me in [my position]" if you say anything at all, just to let corpmates know of an enemy presence
incorrect:
"omg help"
roman numerals:
learn them
I- one
II- two
III- three
IV- four
V- five
VI- six
VII- seven
VIII- eight
IX- nine
X- ten
disruptor/scrambler]
disruptors(except faction and boosted with special mods) are 20km and 1 point
scramblers(same exceptions) are 7.5km and 2 points
dont mix them up because they are different
jamming
NОT thе same as warp scrambling. jamming/being jammed involved ECM and breaking target locks on ships for 20 seconds
"hold on the gate" "do not jump"
means exactly that. i dont know why some people dont listen‚ but it really messes things up if you dont. you either die or you scare off targets. rest of gang gets mad at you.
