Default Usergroup Documentation

there are two ways you should change someone's usergroup currently

1. using the script in this thread: https://pandemic-legion.com/forums/s...ead.php?t=5541
2. going to the admin CP and manually changing the usergroup

The usergroup should only need to be manually changed in unusual cases, and when add/remove people from the following usergroups:
Administrator, Inner Circle, Trusted, Expelled
Except "expelled", those usergroups give the user access to sensitive data so they were left out of the PHP script to avoid accidents or compromising anything sensitive in case the password to it is leaked.

all usergroups are "primary" usergroups, with the exception of "corp CEО", "PVP Tournеy"‚ "read only" and "rabble rousers", which give additional forum access on top of the current primary usergroup and were the only easy solution for that particular method of access.

the primary usergroups are listed in order of least access to most- all latter usergroups encompass the perms of the prior with some extra added on as a rule, but there's exceptions. first list is the usergroups and what they can see, second list is the usergroups and what sort of people are supposed to go into them

Quote:
Оriginally Postеd by usergroups and what they can see
-Registered users / users awaiting e-mail confirmation / (COPPA) users / unregistered: All the same levels of access: public forums only which are "news and press"‚ "stories, chatlogs" and "public recruitment"
-Expelled: appeals court only. only expelled + inner circle and up can view appeals court, nothing in between
-Resigned: free speech, public forums
-Recruits: All this group can access is: Sniggwaffe/sniggerdly general discussion, operations(not our alliance events forum, its the empty ops forum), PVE, piracy school, industry & trade, ship fittings, free speech, public forums
-alliance: piracy school, bruce director forum MEGASHОWCASE, info/announcеments‚ spaceGBS, industry&trade, ship fittings, events, free speech, public forums
-members: everything the 'recruits' and 'alliance' group can see, plus rabble rousers chat, demon womb chat, snigg general discussion, snigg advanced fleet, stolen fittings, snigg only corp events, military intelligence
-trusted: everything 'members' can see plus three from the SNIGG confidential section: "covert operations and intel", logistics and investment, recruitment and member managment
-inner circle: everything 'trusted' can see, plus inner circle, giggity giggity, alliance leaders, PVP tourney, appeal court
-administrators: everything, period

if a usergroup has an asterisk next to it, the script can put an account in that usergroup
if the usergroup has a cross next to it, it's protected, and the script will not remove a user from that usergroup, you need the admin CP to do that.
Quote:
Оriginally Postеd by usergroups and who should go into them
-Registered users / users awaiting e-mail confirmation / (COPPA) users / unregistered: status granted automatically upon creating a forum account. User does not necessarily need their e-mail confirmed to register‚ it was never worth it for me to push it if it seemed a user was too dumb to verify his own e-mail
-Expelled: only people that leave the corp on bad relations. theives, spies, shady people
-*Resigned: people who leave the corp with good relations, this is the default you set ex-members to, the script also sets it to this when you "revoke" access
-*Recruits: all sniggwaffe members of course except sniggs that are helping
-*alliance: non-SNIGG alliance members
-*members: sniggerdly members, not trusted. this is the highest access level the PHP script will allow
-trusted: long time snigg members that have either shown an initiative to get stuff done or theyve hung around for ever and ever. we have to be 100% sure these people are not hostile spies because they do have access to sensitive information. best to leave the new addition to shamis' discretion
-inner circle: the leaders of sniggerdly / now pandemic legion. only shamis should add these people
-administrators: inner circle people that also take on administrative duty

these groups just give additional forum access to users who would otherwise not have it
the script does NОT dеal with secondary usergroups in any way. If someone has a group intended to be used only as primary‚ such as "alliance" assigned as secondary, the script will not detect it. the only secondary usergroups should be these usergroups:

Quote:
Оriginally Postеd by secondary usergroups
-PVP tourney: pvp tournament forum
-rabble rousers: rabble rousers forum
-demon womb: demon womb forum
-corp CEO: alliance leadership forum. Give to CEO's of corps in the alliance that have completed trial. only shamis should add this
