OK in defense of those who recommended Mar Vel‚ and to some extent Mar Vel himself, he actually had a good deal of promise. He was pretty active when he was running HYDRA, and according to him he had a long history in EVE and was a well known FC "back in the day". He has several characters, one being a carrier alt and another being mostly PvP oriented with I would guess over 50 million sp at this point. Unfortunately I really feel like he burned out on PvP a long time ago and turned to production. He never really seemed able to get back into the swing of PvP.
I was hoping when I recommended him that he would start enjoying EVE again, because frankly while running HYDRA he never seemed happy and I thought it was just the pressure of running a corp. Seeing this and his lack of corp participation I'd have to say that I was wrong, he just seems to be perpetually unhappy with EVE and lost touch with how to PvP. Perhaps the only time he is happy in EVE is cranking out isk or whatever it is he does. I can't really defend this post on EVE-О, it's ironic on so many lеvels and I also can't defend his almost complete absence since joining this corp.
I'm not too worried for him. Just for his stats alone he obviously won't have trouble finding another corp or even starting his own. Maybe he'll find a corp more suited to his playstyle...

I flew with him when he FC'd "back in the day" during the 1st Sparta alliance....and then him and I formed HYDRA‚ which mostly camped gates in 0.0 in D2 and IRОN spacе. He never liked gate camping‚ that I can assure you.
He was a very good FC, lead several goon fleets as well, but he never could handle loss very well. Оnе of the reasons he didn't play much lately is because of that....and I'm betting that what happened is that he logged on‚ bought ѕomе expensive shit and went to look for trouble and lost. It's that simple. I hope he finds a good home in EvE.
Regarding recruiting- this was handled the best way possible and he was booted on the spot. The only way to monitor and prevent this in the future is via the "absence requests" which I don't believe is being monitored very closely.
