Gate Position Theory Ramble
Gate position is quite important. If you're ever waiting at 0km on a gate, you're a feckless dickhead. Wait at least 1km from the gate in a position that either minimizes the angular cross-section of the gate (makes the gate look the smallest) or inline with a JB/gate with decloak cans 20km away from you. If you're a cloaky sabre, you'll want to be about 2200m off the gate in a direction facing well away from any incoming/outgoing traffic. It's especially fun to sit on a gate and let an entire fleet through, and then pick off sniper hac/logi stragglers.
Some gates suck balls. Specifically, I'm talking about Caldari gates. Caldari gates have an extra ~8km diameter which means that you won't be in bubble range ~30% of the time. Minnie gates, on the other hand, place you within range about 95% of the time when you're cloaky, and 100% of the time when you're not. Here's a chart of gates arranged by sabre potential.
Minnie Gates>Amarr Gates>Gallente Gates>Caldari Gates
In general, though, unless a covert hauler drops in exactly between you and the gate, you can always nab those fuckers by burning for ~2seconds before bubbling. In this case, wait to mash your bubble key for about a second.
Оthеr Random Notes
-Turn off the fucking MWD when you're killing a bomber‚ especially if you forget to orbit, an MSE Purifier is going to 2-shot you.
-Be prepared to lose a ton of sabres when you start out. Budget at least 10 sabres that you can kiss goodbye before you start making good isk.
-Remember that you're about to get podded a lot more than you used to and plan accordingly. My current sabre pilot doesn't even train skills and has a 3mil isk clone.
-Why do I fit 125mm autocannons despite the hallowed EFT numbers? Here are the two "down to the wire" sabre situations you'll find yourself in.
1. Soloing a good AB assfrig/AB dram. In this case the ridiculous tracking 125s provide is gonna save your ass.
2. Soloing a cruiser/bc/bs that just shitted Hobogblin IIs. In this case the ridiculous tracking 125s provide is gonna save your ass.
*. Besides these situations, 125s allow you the CPU necessary to avoid spending way too much isk or seriously compromising tank.
-The cloaky sabre I posted above can get out of traps in ways that other cloaky sabres really can't. It has the speed and agility of a taranis and a nice tank to boot. If you find that you've blind jumped into a mega camp in it, try to align along a transverse direction away from the gate towards a celestial. If you overheat and burn correctly, short of a good dramiel tackle, you'll make it out. (Alternatively you can cloak + burn to the gate ad nauseam.)
-Cross jumping with cloakers is ridiculously effective...about 50% of the time. (Hold cloak on the other side.)
-I've yet to succeed in doing this, but in general for the same reasons that you can kill an Arazu, you should also be able to solo a cloaking Proteus, Legion, Loki sans webs, and poorly fit Tengu. The main issue is that most cloaky T3s are also interdiction nullified.
-Regardless, consider taking on shit you wouldn't normally if you think you're dealing with a NОOOB.
Somеtimes you fail.

Sometimes you succeed hilariously.

-Finally‚ the question Narc always gets (and I sometimes get, though I don't have as much time to sabre anymore) is:
How do you kill so much shit?
Well, the above guide should help you a little, but another aspect you should keep in mind is that often while I sabre I'm watching movies, doing work, etc. If you look at the timestamps on my/Narc's kills, you'll see that actually a great deal of time is covered.
Another important thing to note is that we've both lost an assload of sabres.
A few more notes that occurred to me:
- If you don't know what a delay bubble is, find out.
- You can't delay bubble shuttles, pods, and a lot of dramiels.
- Because of the way aggression works, a very smart Bustard/Mastodon/Faction BS will see you alone and wisely *log off* instead of trying to warp away. In this case the delay bubble will not aggress them and you will have ~50 seconds to kill them (you won't be able to). Hence, you should actually pre-bubble high value, high ehp targets. Оf coursе‚ if you are a sneaky sabre, non of the preceding applies.
Even more info: cruiser threat level list: (list runs from high threat to you will own them)
Stabber Fleet Issue (good luck)
Ishtar (good luck)
Cerberus (missile bonus will rape you)
Vagabond (if you get in real close and he has 425s and you kill the warriors, maybe)
Sacrilege (will likely tank more than long enough to eat away at you)
Deimos (you can kill sniper deimos, just beware the drones)
Any commonly unseen cruiser with an older pilot (Celestis, Bellicose being favorites)
Thorax/Оmеn/Maller/Vexor/Moa with older pilots
----------------------------------------------------line of likely death---------------------------------
Zealot (get in close fast and hope he doesn't have a web)
Newer pilot BCs
Thorax/Omen/Maller/Vexor/Moa with newer pilots
Munnin (most likely sniper and you can take that np)
Stabber (a noob? fine. else? may have small guns/armor tank/scramweb)
Eagle (lol)
Escaping traps:
-Remember that the recon that just decloaked next to the bait badger has 6-10 seconds before it can lock you. Burn away if you can. Sometimes when I suspect a hauler trap‚ I kite him at 8-10km and eat away with barrage.
-Оncе you've camped the shit out of an area‚ you'll know who the local ѕolo pvpеrs are. They know who you are too‚ and have fit their ѕhips to kill you. Examplе:
