Last corp was DVRN. Went inactive in the spring to write my thesis, graduate, and get a job. Now working in a virus lab for pharma production... which brings me back to a sane schedule and EVE.

Although I have been playing since 2006, it was on and off due to the Engineering program I was in at university. The number of kills may not be high due to these periods of inactivity, but I listen to directions well and rarely die in a fire due to my own stupidity. When I am playing, I get my supplies to the staging point and jump into whatever campaign is available.

Before I fly any ship, I first cross-reference loss mails from several players I respect, within my own corp and others. I figure out why they fit them in that manner, may switch out a few modules to meet my own playstyle, then take them out for a test drive. I have never had a bad experience with this approach. The fits above are a mix of my knowledge of gangs and tactics from SoT, and referencing the PL lossmails over the past few months to see updates in group fittings and tactics. Any further fitting knowledge can be learned on the fly as needed.

As for the pulse armor zealot, I chose the AB over a MWD to reduce sig radius and increase transversal... while a MWD would better suit a build that needs to dictate range for survivability. Low sig radius, mobility, and resists are why you would use an armor HAC over an armor BS. As for the damper, I had some skills from my Arazu already in place, and tackling will better be served by dedicated tacklers (HICs/frigs/etc)...thus 50 ECM modules would be more beneficial than 50 points in a fleet when the enemy is already bubbled to hell. Lows give you a 1600mm for a basic buffer to allow the guardians time to target you, then increased resists that help benefit the armor rep from the guardians once they are repping you. Cheap faction hardeners can be used that give the same resists as T2 but at ~half the CPU and ~2x the peen if needed for a tight fit.

For the cynabal, it relies more on speed, agility, and its ability to GTFО.... hеnce the polycarb.

I agree we need to find out how much he is going to play. You do need to be active in PL. Waffles is one way, the other is via our trial period. That would be a much better test in my opinion as we will have first hand experience of how much he plays. When he was playing he always played well and takes the time to find out the right fits and tactics (which is what we want in PL).
