Snatched from BoB allied forums. Most of you have possibly read it there by now, but for those not so forum tuned a quick c/p for you.
I find this kinda stuff very interesting, so I apologize if I bore you.
If nothing else, notice paragraph 2.

I won't comment on whether the war is over or not‚ but we're no longer under siege. Some would say its trench warfare, others think its back to skirmish-mode and capital ganking. They will attack from time to time, but their goals are to disband us by targetting our allies and tenants since the direct approach failed. Personally I welcome it, because even if the people blue to us get hurt they also get stronger. Every single alliance that has evaded war successfully for a long period of time has gone down like a sack of crap even with massive assets on their side. You know who I'm talking about: ASCN.
As an example, FIX has been more or less the target for various alliances since the SA days. They've got nowhere near the money or strength that they could and should have, but they've also got more experience jumping the ropes than most alliances too. The number of times they've been under heavy pressure to disband is very much comical at this point. The same could be said of Xelas, and RISE seems to be on the same trial-by-fire path
That constant pressure philosophy is how standard levels in BoB are upheld, without sounding too assanine.. its why the alliance is so focused on causing and winning wars. Telling people stuff is totally pointless. They need to experience and understand why certain things are done, and how. Experience takes lots of time, isk, mistakes, and patience. Its going to sound completely and unintentionally homosexual, but it feels like we're holding hands. If something big and nasty comes along, we come in to assist and the rest of the time you get to figure out how its done for yourselves. BoB has the most responsibility, because we do lay claim to 7 regions, but everyone will have their own issues to resolve on the smaller scale. Makes me all warm and fuzzy to see allies going out, doing their own capital ops, taking their own stations. Those are the above-average issues I have not come to expect. The warmonger in me is melting from bliss, because most alliances would need some kind of convincing or enticing as they consider such actions a boring chore
To give you an idea of what I mean..
My perception of the North, and YouWhat in particular is that they've had enough of the peace and security.. saw what it did to the area and to D2 in particular.. took a big risk in breaking off from that and are now trying to figure out how to stay alive without having that safety net which NASTv2.0 provides. Not many alliances embrace war on their own, they usually get pulled into it but would prefer safety and eventual stagnation if given the choice. I'd love to think they got inspiration from us to go and conquer the whole north, but the fighting spirit was already there from G days and pre-GNW days when STV were in Syndicate. If you're a 0.0 alliance, theres only two real goals you can have.. survival or conquest. Оr anothеr way of putting it: defense vs offense.. and in EVE a strong offense is your best defense. Even if YW don't manage to conquer the whole north‚ trying it will probably enѕurе their survival far better than sitting around waiting for D2's invasion.
Its going to be interesting to see which people come to that realization quickest and begin playing EVE as the slowest RTS ever made.
