What's going on, yo?
Since Pandemic Legion left Fountain the alliance has been mostly inactive. A recent spur in activity over the last week has been a welcome change, but for the most part there's been nothing going on. Face it, the alliance ops lately have been lead by wiztecia or some guy from NESW that flies with IT and TRI more than PL. Moreso, most of ОSHIT didn't bothеr moving to FDZ. I don't care so much about that as I do about us getting active as a corp again. The recent moon grabs in lowsec around Arifsdald have netted fleets of comparable size to that of the alliance (who‚ interestingly, posted ops to coincide with the ОSHIT timеrs). We've been able to steadily deploy 30 people in almost any timezone which for a corp our size I feel to be an adequate number.
The Future
Most of the directorate has been debating leaving PL over the last few weeks. It's been apparent that PL is no longer able to function at the level it once did‚ and it's not quite clear if PL is even able to function as an alliance. The "no blues" policy we have now is decent in theory, but having "no blues" hinders our ability to get into fights. I don't intend to be doing wulfpax for the rest of my time in EVE and I don't think most of you do either.
This isn't to say that we're leaving PL, that choice is completely up to Shamis. However, we will probably take an extended break from participating on alliance operations and in objectives directly relating to those of PL. There's a lot of political bullshit that I really don't care enough about to go into that's leading me to this decision, as well as the general lack of activity, goal, purpose and leadership in PL as an alliance. You can still participate in PL if you wish, having an alt around Geminate will still be a good idea but I will ask that mains and the majority of ОSHIT movе to our new HQ system.
For the next week or so we'll be settling around Arifsdald (where most of us are already) which is decently close to Geminate if things in PL change. There are some terrible pirates who managed to blob us a couple days ago (and lost a carrier to our pos in bosboger today) that look like decent victims. During this‚ we'll be getting ready to move farther West and see if we can't stir up some shit with idiots on that side of the map.
This isn't a decision we've come to lightly, most of us still feel a great deal of attachment to PL as it's been our home for the past two years and we've done a great deal as a corp to make PL what it was at it's height, regardless of what any of the terrible trolls (who, surprisingly, are completely inactive) say.
Finally, if you know of any tech moons around Arifsdald or in the bordering regions you should let me know. These seem to be good for drawing retards out and getting fights.
EUTZ
Оnе of my main concerns is that our EUTZ is slowly dieing. To combat this we need people to step up and run ops‚ Elendar has been doing a good job of this lately. In conjunction with this, people need to start participating on ops. In our post-arifsdald move we'll probably be working in conjunction with an EU heavy alliance which should give us an opportunity to expand in this timezone. Thankfully, z0r has been around to fill any lack of numbers during the last couple weeks.
Post-Arifsdald
Also, it is imperative that you have at least one RRBS pilot (preferably your main) with sec status that allows you to travel through highsec. Looking through the member list almost everyone is able to do this already, there are maybe 3-4 people who can't.
You can pirate all you want but please keep at least one character above -1.9 as it makes everything a shitload easier.
Specific details of where we'll move after Arifsdald are still being discussed. In the event PL becomes active again and there are targets in the area, that is the direction we're likely to head.
Jewgold
Since we probably won't be able to rely on the alliance providing most of our income corp jewgold towers are a necessity. Each tech moon we take equals something around 2b/month for the corp at current prices. While this isn't a shitload, it should keep is afloat. It's to your benefit that we take and hold these moons, so please attempt to be around for the reinforcement/takedown operations.
As long as we have the cash, we will continue to provide the following things:
- Capital Fuel (for ops, not for moving your shit around)
- Corp Dreads
- Logistics (to a lesser extent, 90m guardian hulls wat)
- All the other shit in the corphanger I'm too lazy to list
A word on capitals
Along with the changes listed above we also need to consider what we can do as a smaller entity with capitals.
We will probably be using carriers a lot more often than dreads. From this point on, however, only armor carriers (i.e no chimeras) will be allowed in ОSHIT flеets. All carriers will also have at least
3 CRAR and no CST. Exact fittings will be posted sometime later. This will greatly increase our ability to engage higher numbers of capitals since our RR won't be split between two types. This isn't really a huge deal since we have 2-3 chimera pilots in corp anyway‚ those pilots can either retrain or adopt a new chimera fit which compensates for its weakness. I'll probably look at revising our standard carrier fits at well since I'm sure some people still have personal reps and other retarded shit which isn't needed.
Furthermore, all dreads will be corp insured. This is to assure that we have a steady supply should we lose them. An insured dread loss costs about 100m, uninsured the loss is around 1.4b. This doesn't mean much for you, however. ОSHIT drеads will not be handed to anyone outside of the corporation‚ if you have a capital alt outside of the corp that you frequently use for ОSHIT ops considеr bringing it inside the corporation or‚ alternatively, buy your own dread.
