Do to the horrible inactivity of most of the alliance I figured i'd catch us all up on the conflict.
IT UP TО NOW:
PRE-DOM - Prе dominion IT sought to avoid our two greatest strengths (SOV and Titans) by attacking our low sec jew gold infrastructure in low sec. This gave them the added bonus of avioding bubbles and thus having their entire capfleet destroyed. It also made it a contest of who has the bigger blob.
Right before Dominion IT began striking at 0.0 infrastructure: jewgold‚ jump bridges, and PNQY. As a result they exposed themselves to bubbles and cap fleet destruction. As many of you remember this happened shortly before Dominion when IT lost over 100 cap ships. IT, however, did manage to claim PNQY with less than the losses we hoped and had claimed a significant chunk of r64s.
Dominion - IT continued their attacks on Jew gold and infrastructure but (I imagine) they quickly realized how pointless infrastructure strikes were, as the whole sov system was ending in days and bridge networks being rebuilt. Thus IT changed their focus to Station Systems hoping to capture the real prizes in dominion. With their two timers and their clear logistical value in the newly created blob-online they are THE important item in fountain.
In one week IT (or their pets) launched attacks on 4 station systems.
2 key battles took place
9DQW - Gons/Sot/PL brought caps and titans onto grid to await the attack on the station. The US TZ RF timer led IT to call for full participation (intel suggests people called in sick, missed school, normal bob poop socking). They brought around 400BS most of which got destroyed on a gate. After getting faceraped they went back to pnqy to lick their wounds.
G95 - Some terrible pet that IT forget to accept into their alliance put up SBUs on the g95 gate. We killed their staging pos, IT formed a euro prime counter attack with only 150 some odd in fleet - a direct result of tears from everyone missing life to play us tz eve in 9dq and getting smashed - it got WRAPED and we proceded to kill all the SBUs.
in the end all 4 station systems were saved. So essentially IT will likely be re evaluating the strategy of taking station systems or they'll need to invite AAA to... oh wait. yes AAA is on the way (they claim not and so will IT but, yea). So now they'll be throwing themselves and AAA into station system death traps.
2nd and 3rd order effects
If we continue to hold strong in US TZ and weak in EU TZ eventually we will make a timing mistake and we will lose.
EU TZ needs a hero. You could see the massive drop in IT numbers during euro prime as a result of their loss in 9DQ. A similar loss in EU TZ and US TZ could break these guys and allow us to resume the offensive in PNQY.
we are very much on a tipping point right now. Оur participation is thе lowest i ever remember but thanks to goons/sot we have been wining every major fight. But just like we questioned the relevance of helping goons in delve when their participation was shit‚ they will question the same.

IT attacked the SoT IHUB as it was onlining in 9DQ, so PL brought in 17 carriers and Shamis' titan and entered the field at the IHUB.
What followed was some of the most fun I've had in a long time; trying to dodge the IT and DNS bombs against our drones while pointing and killing whatever we could. The combo of faction neuts and 10 Warrior IIs got me on plenty of dictor and frig mails. The ever constant danger of getting hotdropped (even though this is IT's weak timezone) helped get the blood pumping.
Tonight has gotten me excited about Dominion cap combat for the first time since the mothership buffs were dropped.
:edit: ОK, Shamis hеaring that all the IT support had warped to the gate‚ then immediately leroying the titan in and cauѕally tеlling us on TS "carriers should probably warp to me‚ ѕincе I just warped to the gate" plus some accidental triaging and Angel repping our primaries and trying to goad Shamis into DDing her carrier‚ combineѕ to makе this the most fun I've had in many many months in Eve.
