Weekend 23-24/5 2009 update:
So what has happend over the weekend and what does this mean for bob now?
Guess many are wondering this as we speak so will try to put words on how I have seen the weekend.
As we all know hostiles had called for everyone and their mother to come to i1y this weekend to help them save sov.
It would have fallen tuesday or wedensday otherwise.
PL had hit 3-4 AAA r64's in lowsec the days before to lure them out of i1y.
Saturday we had around equal numbers to hostiles but we had made the (in hindsight) mistake of logging our dreads off in ED- and not being able to use them due to jammer being online in i1y.
It was decided AAA should go save their highends and we would then see what we could do about i1y, since numbers didnt look bad in i1y local.
The problem with this was hostiles could bring caps in easy with jb and we couldnt.
When we tried to do duck 'n shoot at the pos's dreads in siege simply killed the pos protecting us before we could kill like 5-10 hostile bs's.
Its impossible to do a proper defense of a pos comming out of reinf without dreads if hostiles use them and their fleet is about equal to your own.
What didnt make it better was the 4-6 titans hostiles had online.
Оnе of the towers they warped 4 titans to outside shields and then dreads sieged without fleet on grid.
We did duck 'n shoot and as expected titans DD'ed‚ we lost like 15 bs's to that alone, who were to slow to get into shields, and managed to kill 1 dread before tower died.
Next pos was bubbled before we warped to it so had to warp to a spot over the pos and then down to it.
Hostile titans warped in and double DD'ed again this time killing 50 bs's, with like 20 of those in the pos shields due to lag.
Defending a system with bs's vs bs/dreads/titans is useless, as was clearly proven.
All day after they had saved their PОS's AAA waitеd for a chance to break into system‚ but none came.
We set regroup for the next day and hostiles matched our regroup times, and goons did an alarm clock op.
Hostiles bubbled all gates and proceeded to reinf most of the pos's in system.
We timed them all for sunday since monday is holiday in the states and not in most of europe.
When we formed up sunday, hostiles had 10+ titans online in i1y, and with the jumpbug and bubbles there is no way to get into the system, simple as that (neither for us nor AAA).
We waited to see if they would make a play for other systems than i1y, but when this didnt happen there was no more point keeping the fleet active.
i1y, ED- and 9cg are all jammed and linked with jb's.
If we chosen to go for any of the 2 other systems hostiles could have quickly offlined jammer and bridged in titans to DD us jumping in.
This would be risk free for them, since they had so many on backup they could DD any tacklers without problems.
Jump bug didnt help us either in this case, and prevented any "ninja's".
While all this happend tri has taken 2 dyspro moons from MM in the north and has reinforced another 5 comming out tomorrow.
I dont expect we will see the collective north comming to querious to save goons and co every weekend from now on out, but lets see how it goes.
We have been steadilly pwning in ED- and I1y for 2 weeks straight, and this was really the first whelp 2 days we have had (prolonged weekend in the states and eu aswell).
Things should hopefully get back to "normal" around tuesday when normal weekdays start up, so we just have to keep up what we have been doing.
The main lesson to be learned from this is, if you want to kill a system with sov3 you need EVERYОNE and thеir mothers to be logged out INSIDE the system.
This means hopefully next time we will have all capitals inside aswell and not have AAA leaving.
If either doesnt happen I dont really see how we would be able to progress in the war.
In the end‚ cheer up boyѕ and girls this has only just bеgun and we it is faaar from over yet
