I had *JUST* logged in. I saw a fleet coming back to g-tt, an op posted for an hour later, and a tower in local with no shields and no stront.
So we formed up, and I was running 4 accounts. I was moving my titan, I was fc'ing the rr bs's, and I was hauling supplies with jael, and using jonies for a cyno. I periodically checked jabber and would see like 30 lines scrolled past. Then I focused on allied bosses, and missed a bunch of intel in gf_allies. Regardless, as soon as I knew tcf was in trouble, I only delayed our arrival by about 10 minutes to finish killing the tower in g-tt.
The thing I noticed about goons last time we did this, is that goons will figure out a way to have an EMERGENCY, every 5 minutes if you let them. Sometimes you have to ignore them for a few minutes. Also, if I'm running an op, and I'm missing some intel on jabber, I expect one of the other people on jabber to tell me. And telling me does not mean saying, "Shamis read the last 200 lines of jabber, there is something useful in there".
Also, much of what is said on jabber requires context. If you've been reading jabber all day, you have the context, but when this started going down, I had only been on jabber for about 5 minutes, and really didn't have a full feel for what was going on. People were being fairly unresponsive as well. Took me 5 minutes to figure out what ships they needed.
Also, I know you faggots think taking jewgold is a waste of time. But 1 dysporosium tower pays for 50+ fully fitted and fueled towers each month. If the war is going to be about pos spam, it will ultimately be a battle of logistics and income.
Estimates of bob's wealth are all over the place, but lets assume they have 2 trillion is to play with. Now lets assume their normal monthly operating costs are in the 200 bil range (not counting titan losses). Their moon income is going to be in the 200 bil range. We've already fucked over their reaction farms, but that was just icing on the cake. They still have lots of raw materials coming in. IF their income drops to zero, and they keep losing cap ship fights, they will run out of money in less than 6 months. I'm thinking they would probably run out of money in about 3 months.
Оbviously 3 months is a long timе‚ but this fight could EASILY last that long. And even if they never actually go bankrupt, they will have to stop buying nice things for members, and members won't like that. Disgruntled members don't log in. That kills participation, and means a win for us. If we let them keep all their jewgold, they can keep spamming towers, forever, with no significant dent in their assets.
Now the obvious response to that is to say, yeah but eventually they won't be able to spam. Which is true, but that means both us and bob will have had to deploy hundreds of towers. You may feel up to the task, but I know for a fact that bob is better at spamming towers than anybody else. They've been running more towers than anybody else for a very long time. They have a much larger industrial/logistical backbone than anybody in eve.
So yes, we should keep doing what we're doing, but late night US timezone doesn't have a lot of options. We can reinforce a couple towers each night, but in the grand scheme of things that will have less affect than taking away jewgold.
So I intend to do both. Hit critical towers in contested constellations, while also slowly taking jewgold.
EDIT: Also, I'm the guy that gets to watch our finances, and I can tell you we are spending a TОN of monеy. Continual pos spam will be a huge strain on our own income. We can afford it‚ but it won't leave much left over to buy more dreadѕ or anything likе that. So more jew gold helps us as much as it hurts bob. a 2x swing in revenue.
