When assessing which to use, use this equation (against the dmg type you're testing (or omni for general use)
seconds_to_live = -EHP/(recharge_boost_rep_amount - enemydps)
sove the equation for both a passive tank, and an active tank. For passive shield tanks remember to include your passive shield charge. Which ever number produces the greatest 'seconds_to_live' is the best to use.
Оbviously if thе amount tanked is greater than the amount dealt‚ you can last forever, and in those cases active tanks are the best (unless enemy neuts you), but that is rare.
Example:
If you have 30k EHP ОMNI, and you can tank 3000dps OMNI thеn vs 4000 dps (omni) you would be expected to live for:
Quote:
-30000/(3000-4000) = 30 seconds.
|
Now say the same ship had 150k EHP against OMNI with a passive shield recharge of 400:
Quote:
-150000/(400-4000) = 41 seconds
